Day 15 - Theatre Visit in Ioannina

In the evening, we all went to Polytheama, a local theatre, and spoke to three members of the staff there about running a community theatre in Greece and in England. This was especially relevant to Jon who, apart from being a Performing Arts Technician professionally, has been in community theatre for 8 years. Theo (The theatre's director) and Chris (a musician who acted as interpreter) spoke to us about rehearsal processes, funding, marketing and other aspects in detail. Of particular interest to Jon was the discussion about EU incentives that exist for European theatrical exchanges and tours, and the revelation that there are no Health & Safety regulations for theatre beyond fire risk assessment.

Our evening concluded with a meal at La Scala with RC Vice President Kostas.
